CASA DRACULA
Location
The guest house Casa Drácula is situated in a lush green landscape in northern Ecuador, directly on the border to Colombia (0°57'27.58"N, 78°11'50.46"W). It belongs to the Dracula Reserve, a large conservation area that extends both uphill and downhill from the house.
The house is at an altitude of 1,160 meters above sea level, close to the small and quiet village of Quinshul, politically belonging to Chical (4 km). It is operated by the park ranger and his family whose house is immediately adjacent. Gallery
House The house can accommodate up to 14 people in five rooms, each with two to four beds. Three rooms have their own bathrooms with a shower and warm water. The living room on the ground floor is multi-purpose. It is suitable for courses, discussions, planning as well as other activities. The house has laundry facilities and a telephone. Guests Casa Drácula is perfect for guests who are nature lovers. The Dracula Reserve park ranger will be able to provide you with information about flora and fauna, the terrain and local people. He can also help you organize excursions.
Access
Chical has two access roads for public and private transport. One road starts in Tulcán and leads through Tufiño, Páramo de Frailejones (near the 4,723 m Chiles volcano) and Maldonado; the other route goes from Ibarra to Salinas de Ibarra to Guallupe, where you take the turn to Gualchán. This second route is shorter and passes through the Dracula Reserve.
If you arrive at Chical by public transport, a taxi (camioneta) will take you to Quinshul for 3 dollars. Map Chical–Quinshul–Casa Drácula

The house is set up for groups and multi-day events. Please make a reservation. We recommend that you do so in advance.
Prices
The cost of a night including three meals is $20 per person for groups of nine people or more, and $25 per person for smaller groups. Large groups are requested to pay 50% of the total price at the beginning of their visit.
For all-day excursions, a picnic lunch is provided.
Included in the price is the use of the multipurpose room (salón), washer, dryer, mosquito nets, local calls and information about the Dracula Reserve. Not included are tour guides, alcoholic beverages, national and international phone calls.
